We spend years making wishes,

but almost never ask the real question:

whose wishes are these, anyway?

At some point you realize something unsettling —

you have everything,

except the feeling that you’re living your own life.

The New Year has nothing to do with it.

Santa neither.

Sometimes you’re not unheard

because you asked poorly,

but because you stopped being the one who asks.

This isn’t about gifts.

It’s about the moment when an adult

finally hears their inner child — honestly.

And has to decide:

keep pretending,

or actually change something.

Santa, can’t you hear me?

Sometimes that question isn’t aimed at the sky.

It’s aimed inward.
